DJ "CUTTY" KEV
DJ "Cutty" Kev’s love of music and dance is part of his DNA. A proud Soul Train dancer alumni, Cutty Kev worked America's favorite dance floor on television from 1978 to 1980, during the golden era of soul, funk, and disco. Originally from Los Angeles, he grew up immersed in the vibrant West Coast club scene where dance floors were electric, music was magic, and DJs were kings.
The nickname "Cutty" was gifted to him by none other than Louie "Ski" Carr, one of Soul Train's most iconic dancers. In those early days, Cutty honed his DJ skills the old-school way spinning music with nothing but tape recorders, a creative hustle born straight from passion. Today, he brings that same authenticity and energy to every event he touches.
In 2019, Cutty Kev and his family relocated to Atlanta, Georgia just before the pandemic reshaped the world. Now based in the South, he continues to share his love of classic grooves, feel-good anthems, and unforgettable dance parties across generations.
Whether he's curating a throwback celebration or keeping a multi-generational crowd moving, DJ "Cutty" Kev delivers timeless vibes, legendary energy, and memories that last.
